Gary Darland, PhD
Senior Director of Applied Science
MetaProteomics Nutrigenomic Research Center

Gary Darland, PhDGary heads the team in our biological sciences department, which is no small job. And it's no coincidence that this microbiologist has the refined skill set to back him up. He joined us after 23 years of collective research experience that included natural products as well as biochemistry and microbial genetic research at Merck Research Laboratories. He was also a visiting fellow in the enteric disease division of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

He currently supervises the cell biology lab to screen natural substances with proteomic techniques at our MetaProteomics research division. But he's also well-versed in human evaluations, having designed clinical trials on drug metabolism and biosynthesis of natural products—later published in scientific journals. This combination of experience in cell and human testing has been vital in refining our ExpresSyn Process for nutraceutical development.

Although Gary is involved in some pretty technical stuff, he's skilled at breaking it down for the rest of us to understand. We'll attribute that to his former position as an educator at California Polytechnic State University. And we're always eager to learn more.
